Shocking Lemon is a Japanese rock band centered on songwriter Hideki Taniuchi. They handled the opening themes Inner Light and under star for the boxing anime Hajime no Ippo, both written, composed, and arranged by Taniuchi. Inner Light served as an opening theme during the earlier run of the TV series and under star took over from the midpoint onward, each delivering powerful, straightforward rock that fired up the journey of protagonist Ippo Makunouchi. Their lean, edgy band sound and gritty vocals generated the kind of heat that suited this sports-themed series.
