DASEIN is a Japanese rock unit consisting of vocalist Ricky and drummer JOE. Formed in 2000 by JOE, formerly of SEX MACHINEGUNS, the group made its major-label debut shortly after. Their anime work includes Sasuraibito, the ending theme of the mecha-battle series Zoids: New Century Zero, and BREAK OFF!!, an ending theme of the 2001 TV version of the soccer manga adaptation Captain Tsubasa. Sasuraibito was written and composed by the band themselves with arrangement by Nobuhiko Kashihara, and their muscular rock sound paired well with the heated stories of mech battles and on-field rivalries.
