Amika Hattan is a Japanese female singer who broke through via appearances on Nippon Television's 'THE Yoru mo Hippare.' Trained from childhood in classical ballet and a top finisher at national competitions, she changed paths after being chosen as the grand prize winner of a major audition from more than 200,000 applicants. Her signature hit 'SHOOTING STAR' was used as a TV drama theme and earned her the Best New Artist Award at the Japan Record Awards. In anime, she performed 'To The Light,' the opening theme of the TV anime 'Star Ocean EX,' delivering a powerful vocal that suited the grand sci-fi-fantasy world of the series. With her energetic performances and expressive voice, she became a notable presence in the late-1990s to early-2000s J-POP scene.
