New Cinema Tokage is a male rock band from Osaka that was signed to GIZA studio. Centered on vocalist-lyricist Motoari Funaki and guitarist-composer Yuichiro Iwai, they made their major debut with the single 'Smashing the good! smashing the bad!.' Their name combines the film 'Cinema Paradiso' with a member's favorite animal, the lizard, and is often shortened to 'Shinetoka.' In anime, they performed two opening themes, 'Free Bird' and 'Breathe on me,' for the TV anime 'Project ARMS' adapted from the manga by Kyoichi Nanatsuki and Ryoji Minagawa. With lyrics by Funaki, music by Iwai and arrangement by the band themselves, the tracks back the show's sci-fi battle action with a fast-paced rock sound. The band disbanded in 2002 after roughly three years of activity.
