Mori Shinichi and Mori Masako are two of the most celebrated singers of Japanese enka and, as a married couple from 1986 to 2005, joined voices on 'Shiawase no Uta,' the opening theme of TV Asahi's anime adaptation of 'Tsuri Baka Nisshi.' Written by Juzo Yamasaki with additional lyrics by Mitsuko Shiramine, composed by Tetsuya Gen and arranged by Toshiaki Maeda, the song is a classical-Japanese ballad that channels the wistful warmth of Juzo Yamasaki and Ken'ichi Kitami's original manga and the long-running live-action film series, celebrating married life and quiet love in pure enka style; the very act of casting a real-life husband-and-wife duo turned the OP itself into a talking point.
