Rica Matsumoto is a voice actress and singer from Yokohama, Kanagawa, long known as the symbol of the 'Pokemon' franchise for her many years voicing protagonist Ash Ketchum (Satoshi). Alongside countless boyish anime roles, she has performed numerous theme songs as a vocalist. Representative anime tracks include 'Mezase Pokemon Master', the iconic opening of the first 'Pokemon' series, and 'Challenger!!' and 'Spurt!', opening themes of 'Pokemon Advanced Generation', all composed and arranged by Hirokazu Tanaka. She also performed 'Spicy Life', an ending theme of 'Mama wa Poyopoyo-Saurus ga Osuki'.
