Otomo Kohei is a Japanese singer, actor and television personality, best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band HOUND DOG. A Sendai native, he has remained at the forefront of Japanese rock since the 1980s. His signature anime credit is 'RISE,' the opening theme for the TV anime 'Major 4th Season' (2008): the track was composed by ryo and written by Otomo himself, with guest appearances by Marty Friedman and Billy Sheehan giving it a hard-edged rock attack. His soulful, powerful vocals layer perfectly over the show's hot-blooded baseball storyline, making the song one of the franchise's defining themes.
