Takahashi Hitomi is a female singer who became the first Heisei-born artist to debut at number one on the Oricon weekly singles chart. Her 2005 debut single 'Bokutachi no Yukue' was used as an opening theme for the TV anime 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY,' launching her into the spotlight. She has since taken on the opening themes of major science-fiction and action shows in succession, including 'Aozora no Namida' for 'Blood+,' 'JET BOY JET GIRL' for 'Toward the Terra,' and 'Atashi no Machi, Ashita no Machi' (self-written, composed and arranged by Satoru Hiraide) for 'Library War.' Her powerful, centered vocal carries weight in stories of conflict and struggle.
