Anam & Maki is an Osaka-based female acoustic duo formed by Anamu Kawashima (Anam) and Maki Honda, both born in 1979. They first met as first-year high school students when both joined a folk song club, and the duo's signature is built on Anam's clear high vocals and Maki's deep, resonant low vocals layered with intertwining acoustic guitars. For the anime Nabari no Ou they performed the ending theme Aru ga Mama, with Maki Honda writing both lyrics and music and the duo handling their own arrangement. The passionate, wistful ballad provided a quietly emotional close to this ninja-action series.
