La-Vie is a Japanese rock band fronted by vocalist MASAAKI, working a speed-driven, hard-edged guitar sound paired with reaching male rock vocals. Their representative anime tie-up is 'FREEDOM,' the third opening theme for 'Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's,' written by Masaaki Sakakibara, composed by Kouji Mase, and co-arranged by Eiji Omura and Shinya Kimura. The hard-rock-leaning track strongly colored the turn between the Dark Signers arc and the World Grand Prix arc. The single also includes the in-show insert song 'You Say (kari),' deepening the bond between band and series. After restyling their name as 'La-Vie.,' they pushed further toward a harder sound.
