Makura no Soushi is a Japanese musical unit consisting of composer Ko Otani and a female vocalist-lyricist named Aika, characterised by an evocative blend of poetic words and cinematic sound. The unit is best known for performing 'Akai Usagi', the opening theme of the anime adaptation of 'Blade of the Immortal', with lyrics by Aika and music composed and arranged by Otani. Because Otani also wrote the show's underscore, the theme sits as a natural extension of the series soundtrack and reinforces the work's heavy, introspective atmosphere.
