Color Bottle is a Japanese rock band formed in Sendai in 2004 around vocalist-guitarist Masayuki Takemori, who steadily built a local following before securing a major-label debut in 2007. Their style favours unpretentious, melody-led songwriting that draws emotion from everyday experience. Their anime work is best represented by 'Aoi Hana', the opening theme of 'Casshern Sins', with lyrics by Takemori, music co-written by the band and Masao Akashi, and arrangement by Akashi. The title's blue-flower imagery resonates with the show's ruined-world setting where life still struggles to bloom.
