KANA is a Japanese singer who began her career while still a student in the Faculty of Comparative Culture at Sophia University. Her voice is defined by an unusually clear, translucent tone, and she gravitates toward introspective material. Her best-known anime credit is 'reason', the first ending theme of 'Casshern Sins', with lyrics and composition by Minako Kawae (known for songs written for Mika Nakashima and Ayaka Hirahara) and arrangement by H∧L (whose credits include Ayumi Hamasaki). The result is a hushed, prayer-like ballad that meets the show's central question of a world where death has finally arrived.
