SURFACE (surface) is a Japanese pop rock duo consisting of vocalist Keiji Shiina and guitarist Takao Nagatani. They made their major debut in 1998 with 'Saa,' the opening theme of the TV anime 'Mamotte Shugogetten!,' and their refreshing, universal melodies have earned support across a wide range of generations. Among their notable anime tie-ups are the 'NARUTO Shippuden' ending 'Sunao na Niji' (lyrics by Shiina and Nagatani, composition by Nagatani, and arrangement by Satoshi Takebe), the third ending 'Yume no Tsuzuki e' for 'D.Gray-man,' and the opening 'FLY HIGH' for 'Cluster Edge.' They are a veteran duo in anime music history who have contributed numerous theme songs over many years.
