TOTALFAT is a Japanese melodic hardcore band formed in 2000 around former classmates from the same high school in Hachioji. Influenced by overseas melodic punk rock, they craft mostly English lyrics over a fast-paced punk sound balanced with poppy, approachable melodies, performed by twin vocalists Jose (vocals/guitar) and Shun (vocals/bass), along with Kuboty (guitar) and Bunta (drums). Their major anime tie-up is the single 'Place to Try,' released in November 2011, which served as an ending theme for the TV anime 'NARUTO Shippuden' from episode 231 onward, lasting for eleven episodes. The track stood out as an ambitious rock tune that centered Japanese-language lyrics, a creative shift for the band.
