HIGH VOLTAGE is a Japanese rock band formed in 2002. After mini-albums including 'CORE' and 'SPIRAL,' they made their major debut from a Sony Music-affiliated label in 2006. Their representative anime work is the early ending theme 'UNDERGROUND' for the popular Gainax robot anime 'Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.' The song features lyrics by Taibou Takahashi with composition and arrangement by the band itself, building a melancholic ending that contrasts with the high-energy main story through guitar riffs and bass lines that combine nostalgia with newness. The song is also included on 'Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann BEST SOUND.' Though the band once disbanded, they later reunited and continue to pursue a band sound that appeals across generations.
