Shigeru Izumiya is a leading figure of Japan's folk rock scene, also known as an actor. He performed 'GeGeGe no Kitaro,' the opening theme for the fifth series of the TV anime 'GeGeGe no Kitaro,' covering the familiar theme—with lyrics by creator Shigeru Mizuki and composition by Izumi Taku—in his powerful, wild signature style. It is known as a track that added a new interpretation to the lineage of successive Kitaro themes. The arrangement was handled by Katsumi Horii.
