Hiromi Kashima

Hiromi Kashima is an enka singer from Tochigi Prefecture. She debuted in 1989 as Hiromi Watanabe, and following wins at newcomer singing contests, her 1990 release 'Ijiwaru Kaikyou' became a hit. Renaming herself Hiromi Watanabe (different characters) in 1998 and Hiromi Kashima in 2005, she has worked for many years as an enka singer. In anime, she performed the ending theme 'Hanafubuki Koifubuki' for 'Rakugo Tennyo Oyui' (2006). Written by Akiko Shimoji, composed by Soutaro Mori, and arranged by Yuichi Nonaka, the song's enka-style, lustrous vocal suited the Japanese-flavored world of the rakugo-themed series, released as one of her singles.
