EXILE is one of Japan's leading dance and vocal groups, launched in 1999 as J Soul Brothers and renamed EXILE in 2001. Known for overwhelming performances and a string of hit songs, the group has led Japan's music scene. They performed the ending theme 'careless breath' for the TV anime 'Black Jack 21' (2006). Written by Kenn Kato, composed by Kazuhito Kikuchi, and arranged by Ken Harada, the ballad-style number lent its rich vocals to the weighty drama depicting a genius surgeon, a track in which the group's expressive vocal work stood out even in an anime tie-in.
