Katte ni Shiyagare is a jazz band that began activity in 1997. Characterized by a distinctive guitarless style in which leader and drummer Shohei Muto doubles as vocalist, it is known for a musical approach that sublimates jazz and swing through the spirit of punk rock. They performed the opening theme 'Auvers Blue' for the TV anime 'Kemonozume' (2006). Muto wrote both lyrics and music, with the band handling arrangement. The decadent, jazz- and swing-rooted sound matched beautifully with the artistic, unconventional world of Masaaki Yuasa's anime. The band is also highly regarded for its unconstrained live performances.
