Asumi Nakata is a Japanese voice actress and singer. After a background of performing songs on children's television, she made her voice acting debut as the protagonist Lucia Nanami in the TV anime 'Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch', which aired in 2003. In addition to singing the ending theme 'Daiji na Takarabako', she performed many in-show songs together with Hitomi Terakado (the voice of Hanon Hosho) and Mayumi Asano (the voice of Rina Toin), including the ending 'Sekai de Ichiban Hayaku Asa ga Kuru Basho'. She continued in the lead role in the sequel 'Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure'. Bringing the heroine to life with a graceful, straightforward voice, she is an indispensable singer when discussing the songs of Pichi Pichi Pitch and a symbol of the show's distinctive 'singing warriors' format.
