THE STAND UP is a youth-punk / melodic rock band built around members from Kumagaya, Saitama Prefecture. Their signature style combines straightforward 8-beat rhythms with honest, direct lyrics delivering uplifting messages. For the TV anime 'Kyo Kara Maoh!', they performed the opening theme 'Hateshinaku Tooi Sora ni', and the same song continued to be used in the sequel 'Kyo Kara Maoh! Second Series'. Their soaring, speed-driven sound, evoking a dash across a vast sky, perfectly suited the classic excitement of the otherworldly summoning fantasy, and the song is beloved as a theme that symbolizes the series.
