Ai Takaoka is a Japanese female singer-songwriter from Kanagawa Prefecture. Her signatures are a clear voice and an approachable pop sensibility, and she is known as an artist who spins honest emotions through songs for which she writes her own lyrics. In anime, she performed 'Hikari to Kaze to Kimi no Naka de', the ending theme of the TV anime 'Monkey Turn', based on the boat racing manga by Katsutoshi Kawai. On this refreshing mid-tempo number composed by Aika Ohno and arranged by Daisuke Ikeda, she cleanly sang of the youth of young boat racers cutting across the water surface and the quiet feelings of the heroine beside them, gently wrapping the show in its afterglow.
