Eiichiro Taruki

Artist

Eiichiro Taruki is a Japanese male singer-songwriter based in Tokyo. He is highly regarded for his simple yet delicate folk/pop sound centered on acoustic guitar, and for a lyrical world that scoops up the subtleties of everyday life. On the anime front, he wrote, composed, and performed 'modern size', the opening theme, and 'kitty', the ending theme, of the TV anime Yugo the Negotiator, based on the manga written by Shinji Makari and illustrated by Osamu Akana. In contrast to the hard-edged main story, which follows freelance negotiator Yugo Beppu as he tackles life-or-death negotiations in conflict zones around the world, his introspective and lyrical solo-guitar touch adds a quiet humanity and lingering resonance to the tale.
