A graduate of Otome Juku, an audition program in the lineage of the Onyanko Club, she debuted from Nippon Columbia under the production of Yasuharu Konishi of Pizzicato Five, and her signature style is cute, urbane French-pop-flavored singing in the vein of the Shibuya-kei movement. For the TV anime 'Sugar Sugar Rune', based on the original manga by Moyoco Anno, she performed the opening theme 'Chocolat ni Muchuu' and the ending 'Tsuki no Mukou no Sekai'. Her delicate vocals riding on breakbeats resonated perfectly with the world of Chocolat, a girl arrived from the magic realm, making the songs emblematic of the series.
