A female singer and actress born in 1983 in Tokyo. Before her CD debut she entered the entertainment world through her performance in the additional-member audition for Morning Musume, and later made her solo debut as a singer. Her powerful, expressive vocal delivery lets her handle everything from Japanese pop to ballads, and in recent years she has also earned high praise as an actress and stage performer. On 'Asunaro Galaxy', the ending theme for the TV anime 'Peach Girl' based on the original manga by Miwa Ueda, she sings with rich emotion a grand ballad written and composed by Sukima Switch, wistfully supporting the heroine Momo's youth as she is torn between love and friendship.
