Candy is a Japanese female solo singer who emerged from an Avex-affiliated label, a pop vocalist skilled at soaring vocals and mid-tempo ballads. Her single 'Promise' was chosen as the opening theme of the 2005 TV anime 'Glass Mask', based on the immortal shojo manga by Suzue Miuchi. Laying straight, soaring vocals and a wistful melody over the single-minded resolve and poignancy of the heroine Maya Kitajima, who stakes her soul on acting, it colors the world of the story and stands as Candy's signature anime tie-in song.
