Hanazukin
Artist
Hanazukin is a Japanese female duo formed by Misako Kurokawa and Eiko Ohno. Originally active as 'Noichigo', the pair adopted the name Hanazukin for the single 'Nippon Mukashibanashi' released through Toshiba EMI. The song, used as the opening theme of the long-running Japanese anime 'Manga Nippon Mukashibanashi', features lyrics by Kohan Kawauchi, music by Jun Kitahara and arrangement by Mitsuru Kotani, and its warm opening phrase 'Bouya yoi ko da nenne shina' has been cherished by children across Japan. The gentle, storytelling-like female duet has become established as the face of a program that introduces traditional Japanese folk tales, and as one of the national anime songs passed down across generations.
