Yoko Oginome rose as one of the leading female pop singers of the 1980s and lent her voice to anime as well. For the motorcycle-racing series 'Baribari Densetsu' she performed 'Slope ni Tenki Ame', 'Namida wa Speed Yurasu kara' and 'NONSTOP DANCER', adding fresh pop colour to its coming-of-age drama. She also sang 'Rock My Love', the theme of the film 'City Hunter: Bay City Wars', and 'More More Happiness', the ending of 'City Hunter: Million Dollar Conspiracy'. Her bright, danceable vocals matched the urbane mood of the anime of her era.
