The film is a brand-new sequel to "Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie [New Edition]: Rebellion," which was released in 2013. As the latest chapter in a series that sparked a cultural phenomenon and redefined the magical girl genre since its 2011 debut, this long-awaited new story will continue the saga.
The original work is a creation of "Magica Quartet," the collaborative unit of screenwriter Gen Urobuchi (Nitroplus) and character designer Ume Aoki. Since the TV series premiere in 2011, the franchise has spawned three theatrical films ([Part 1], [Part 2], and [Rebellion]), with combined box office revenues exceeding 4.3 billion yen.
The teaser visual depicts Madoka Kaname reaching out through shattered glass, accompanied by the tagline "Now, let us continue the story."
