'Reincarnated as a Sword' is based on the popular light novel series by Yu Tanaka, published under Micro Magazine's GC Novels imprint. The story follows 'Master,' a protagonist reincarnated as a sentient sword, and Fran, a Black Cat tribe girl who wields him, as they rise through the ranks as adventurers. The series has surpassed 3.5 million copies in cumulative sales.
In the second season, Fran has made a name for herself completing numerous quests at the Adventurer's Guild in the fortress city of Alessa, as she pursues 'Evolution' beyond the limits of strength. Master sets their next destination as the port town of Dharz, and along the way they discover a 'Floating Island' in the sky. Their encounter with Jean Doovy, a necromancer aiming to fully conquer the floating island, marks the beginning of a new adventure.
The main staff carries over from the first season, with Shinji Ishihira directing, Takahiro Nagano handling series composition and scripts, and Atsuko Saito as character designer. Animation production continues at C2C.
