TV Anime "Rurouni Kenshin -Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story-" Set for July 2023 — Teaser Visual Released

The TV anime "Rurouni Kenshin -Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story-," based on the manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki, will begin airing from July 2023 on Fuji TV's "Noitamina" block. A teaser visual has been released.



"Rurouni Kenshin" is a landmark swordfighting action manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki, serialized in Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 1994 to 1999. With over 72 million copies in print, this massive hit follows Kenshin Himura, a legendary swordsman feared as "Hitokiri Battousai" during the Bakumatsu era, as he protects people in the Meiji era with his vow of non-killing. The series is being re-animated after more than 25 years.

A talk event will be held at the Aniplex booth during AnimeJapan 2023 at Tokyo Big Sight on March 25-26, 2023.

Directed by Hideyo Yamamoto, series composition by Hideyuki Kurata, character design by Terumi Nishii, music by Yu Takami, animation production by LIDENFILMS.

The cast features Soma Saito as Kenshin Himura, Rie Takahashi as Kaoru Kamiya, Makoto Koichi as Yahiko Myojin, and Taku Yashiro as Sanosuke Sagara.
