"Bakemonogatari" is the first part of the Monogatari series, based on the novels by NISIOISIN published under Kodansha BOX. It tells the story of high schooler Koyomi Araragi and the girls entangled with mysterious apparitions he tries to save. When it first aired in 2009, its striking visual style and dialogue-driven drama made a huge impact, becoming the origin of the Monogatari series that has continued for over 15 years.
