"The Elusive Samurai" TV Anime Set for 2024 — Character Visual & Additional Cast Announced

It has been announced that the TV anime "The Elusive Samurai" (Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi), based on the manga by Yusei Matsui, will begin airing in 2024. A character visual of protagonist Hojo Tokiyuki, a voice-reveal PV, and additional cast members have also been announced.



The series is based on the historical manga by Yusei Matsui, serialized in Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump." Set in 1333 AD, the Kamakura shogunate falls due to Ashikaga Takauji's rebellion. Young Hojo Tokiyuki, a survivor of the Hojo clan, escapes Kamakura with the help of Suwa Yorishige, a Shinto priest from Shinano. The story follows Tokiyuki as he runs and survives through the turbulent era alongside his companions, aiming to reclaim Kamakura.

Animation production is by CloverWorks, with Yuta Yamazaki directing, Yoriko Tomita handling series composition, and Yasushi Nishitani as character designer.

The cast includes Asaki Yuikawa as Hojo Tokiyuki, Hinaki Yano as Shizuku, Mari Hino as Kojiro, Sayumi Suzushiro as Ayako, Aoi Yuki as Kazama Genba, Kikunosuke Toya as Fubuki, and Yuichi Nakamura as Suwa Yorishige.
