Based on the fantasy novel series by Tsuki Kage, published under GC Novels (Micromagazine), the anime adapts a series that has surpassed 1.5 million copies in cumulative sales.
Set in a fantasy world of adventurers, the story follows Cry Andrich, the leader of the legendary hero party 'Strange Grief' that once saved the world. In reality, Cry is the weakest party leader who was always protected by his companions. Yet everyone around him misunderstands him as 'the strongest adventurer,' making it impossible for him to retire despite his wishes. A slapstick comedy fantasy starring the strongest protagonist who never fights.
