New "Gintama: Yoshiwara in Flames" Film Opens Feb 13, 2026 — Theater Goods Revealed

The brand-new theatrical anime "Gintama THE MOVIE: Yoshiwara in Flames" (Shin Gekijouban Gintama -Yoshiwara Taienjo-) will premiere nationwide on February 13, 2026. Theater merchandise information has also been unveiled.

The film is a completely new theatrical anime adaptation of the "Yoshiwara Ablaze Arc," one of the most beloved story arcs from Hideaki Sorachi's hit manga "Gintama." Rather than reusing footage from the TV anime series, the entire film has been newly animated in cinemascope widescreen format.

The story follows the Odd Jobs trio — Gintoki Sakata, Shinpachi Shimura, and Kagura — as they confront the dark forces lurking in the red-light district of Yoshiwara. Featuring an epic battle against "Night King" Housen and the appearance of Kamui, the arc delivers the series' most intense action alongside a powerful story of parental bonds. Original creator Hideaki Sorachi's involvement as "Super Advisor Gorilla" has also generated buzz.

The key visual features Gintoki at the center surrounded by the main cast against a backdrop of Yoshiwara engulfed in flames, with the tagline "Slash through the darkness."
