The series, serialized in KADOKAWA's Comic Dengeki Daiouji since 2022, is a fresh "zombie x youth comedy." Thirteen years after "The Red Day," when 90% of humanity was turned into zombies by a mysterious infection, Aki—a girl born in a village isolated from the undead—sets out to find her father who left the village, accompanied by childhood friends Haru and Natsuki, venturing into a world overrun with zombies.
The main cast has been announced: Kyori Nemoto as protagonist Aki, Lynn as childhood friend Natsuki, and Toshiya Miyata as Haru. Additionally, Hibiku Yamamura will voice Yuu and Yuka Nukui will voice Sakura, characters the group meets along the way.

Animation production is handled by Studio Comet. Directed by Shinya Une, with series composition by Kenichi Yamashita and Aki Itami, character design by Narumi Shimoji, and music by Kenta Higashioji.
Kyori Nemoto (Aki) Comment:
When I read the original manga, I was struck by how, despite it being a world of despair overrun with zombies, Aki and the other characters live their lives so vibrantly. It's pop, refreshing, and gives readers energy. I'm honored to play Aki, the ultimate positive force of this series! Her strength, her somehow charming and reassuring personality—I look forward to discovering even more of Aki's appeal through the recording process. I'll give it my all to deliver an enjoyable series to everyone!!
Lynn (Natsuki) Comment:
I'm Lynn, and I'll be playing Natsuki. Actually, I love zombie stuff! I'm so happy to be in a zombie series that I might turn into a zombie myself! I'll do my best not to! The group is moving forward with one goal in a harsh environment. I want to cherish the team dynamic in my performance. It's a youth comedy that makes you feel warm and fuzzy while thinking about family and friendship, so please enjoy it!
Toshiya Miyata (Haru) Comment:
The original manga is truly amazing, and I think the exquisite balance between comedy and drama is the highlight. From the moment I did the audition recording, I was determined to get the role, so I'm really happy to be part of this. Among all the zombie works out there, this one has an idea that's never been done before, and the fact that it makes you cry is what makes it special. I really hope many people will watch it.
Hibiku Yamamura (Yuu) Comment:
My first zombie anime appearance in my voice acting career!? I'm so happy! Recording hasn't started yet, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of zombie life Aki and the others will have in the anime. Yuu is calm and collected, always making accurate judgments, but she's also completely hopeless at sports and a bit shy—she's a wonderful character with cute sides too. I'll do my best to convey all of Yuu's charm!
Yuka Nukui (Sakura) Comment:
Sakura is an honest and adorable girl who loves Yuu. Despite her appearance, she's quite... tough! She's a very endearing character. I'm deeply honored to voice her. I'll take on the recording with the same toughness as Sakura! In this zombie-filled world, there are sad and difficult times. But setting that aside, these five live life to the fullest! Even after defeating zombies, food is delicious, spending time together is fun, and the world is beautiful! Please look forward to this zombie-filled youth comedy!
