"Eden of The East" originally aired in 2009 on Fuji TV's "noitaminA" programming block. The series was the first original story anime from noitaminA, with Kenji Kamiyama serving as director, creator, and writer, and Chica Umino providing the original character designs. The work has earned high praise for its distinctive world built around enigmatic elements such as the Noblesse Phones and the Selecao Game, alongside its memorable cast led by protagonist Akira Takizawa, and continues to be loved by fans today.
The story follows just eleven days in the lives of one young man who challenged the "atmosphere" of the nation, and the young woman who watched over him. Three months after a strange incident dubbed "Careless Monday," in which ten missiles fell across Japan, college student Saki Morimi is rescued in front of the White House while on her graduation trip by a fellow Japanese man—Akira Takizawa. He has lost his memories, and stands there clutching a handgun and a mobile phone loaded with 8.2 billion yen in digital currency.
Following the TV series, the franchise expanded with two theatrical films, "Eden of The East: The King of Eden" and "Eden of The East: Paradise Lost." Now, seventeen years after the TV series first aired, Kenji Kamiyama's fully original anime is finally coming to the stage. The tense story will be reborn for the Reiwa era.
