"Hikari no Kasa" is the third in a three-month run of digital singles from cadode, released consecutively from February 2026. The song has been selected as the opening theme for "Hibi Yoyo to.", an animation work produced by the yo-yo brand en. The music video visualizes the journey toward "an emotion without a name" described in the lyrics, following a young girl as its protagonist. It is a song of encouragement for everyone taking their first steps onto a path only they can walk — a path that not even setbacks can take from them.

koshi commented: "Hikari no Kasa is the halo of the sun, a long-held yearning from somewhere in our past, and the brightness of what we hold in our hands right now. It is never too late to begin something, and even when things don't go well, we still move forward. There is always an unknown emotion waiting beyond the act of trying." He added: "But honestly, this song is also half a warning to myself. There are still countless things I want to do but haven't. The world is full of places I've never been and foods I've never tasted. Since we have to keep living until we die anyway, I'd rather look for reasons to do something than reasons not to. If any of you have started something new, I'd love to hear about it."
The song's lyrics are written by koshi, with music and arrangement by eba. It has been available on streaming services since April 1, 2026. cadode first rose to prominence in April 2022 when their song "Kaika" was featured as the first ending theme for the TV anime "Summer Time Rendering," and the unit is known for its poetic lyrics, lyrical melodies, and worldview steeped in nostalgia, transience, and wabi-sabi.
The final show of the live tour "SLICE OF SEKAI ROUTE 1" will be held on April 28, 2026 at Umeda Zeela. Fans are encouraged to enjoy the three consecutive singles and then head to the venue.
