The TV anime adaptation of Anatolia Story (Ten wa Akai Kawa no Hotori / Red River), the landmark shoujo manga by Chie Shinohara, begins airing Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 24:00 on BS NTV. The series also airs on Nippon TV's AnichU anime block from Tuesday, July 7 at 25:39. A key visual was unveiled alongside BS NTV's summer 2026 anime lineup announcement.



The original manga was serialized in Shogakukan's Shoujo Comic from 1995 to 2002, spanning 28 volumes with over 20 million copies in circulation. Yuri Suzuki, an ordinary Japanese girl, is pulled into water and swept back in time to the Hittite Empire of the 14th century B.C. Summoned as a sacrifice by Empress Nakia, she meets Prince Kail and eventually comes to be known as the war goddess Ishtar. Amid court intrigue and her growing feelings for Kail, Yuri carves out her own destiny.
