■Story

In the Sengoku period, beyond a snowy mountain pass lies a land called "Ashina." Wolf is a skilled shinobi who was picked up from the Ashina battlefield and trained in the ways of the ninja. The boy he serves, Kuro, is the last descendant of a clan bearing a special bloodline called the "Dragon's Heritage." The two are a lonely master and servant without any other bonds.

Kuro's Dragon's Heritage blood holds the power to make people immortal. While fleeing from Ashina samurai who covet this power, Wolf and Kuro learn that the Dragon's Heritage brings a deadly illness called "Dragonrot" to others as the price for immortality. Searching for a way to cure Dragonrot, Kuro discovers that it can be done at the cost of his own life, and after much anguish, resolves to sever the Dragon's Heritage. Meanwhile, Wolf, learning of the resolve Kuro had been hiding, sets forth alone into a battle filled with hardship to change Kuro's fate—
