Made in Abyss: The Awakening Mystery Theme Song Is "Chain of the Abyss" by Kevin Penkin feat. Mori Calliope; Season 2 Returns to Theaters

The theme song for "Made in Abyss: The Awakening Mystery" (opening October 23) has been revealed: "Chain of the Abyss" by Kevin Penkin feat. Mori Calliope. The main trailer and additional cast were also unveiled, and a theatrical screening of TV anime season 2 "Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun" has been announced.

Kevin Penkin, who has composed the series' music throughout, wrote and arranged the theme song, featuring globally popular virtual artist Mori Calliope (lyrics: Kevin Penkin, Mori Calliope). A portion of the song can be heard in the main trailer.

The trailer shows Riko, Reg, Nanachi and Faputa descending toward the seventh layer, plus new characters Tepaste (CV: Sumire Morohoshi) and Kravari (CV: Takanori Hoshino).

Ahead of the film, season 2 "The Golden City of the Scorching Sun" (2022) will be screened in 22 theaters nationwide: Part 1 (episodes 1-6) from September 18 to October 1, and Part 2 (episodes 7-12) from September 25 to October 8. A stage greeting with Miyu Tomita (Riko), Mariya Ise (Reg) and Shiori Izawa (Nanachi) will be held at T-Joy Kyoto on September 19.

"MADE IN ABYSS ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK 4", containing all 20 tracks including "Chain of the Abyss", will also be released on October 23.
