"Nanmonee" was released digitally on July 2, 2026, the same day the TV anime "Yani Neko" began airing, and serves as the show's opening theme. With both the opening sequence and the song drawing attention on social media, the music video has now been unveiled.
The video is set in "a familiar underground detention facility." From the "Yani Neko" side, the cast and crew appear on camera: Yuko Natsuyoshi (voice of Yani Neko), Tetsu Inada (voice of the Landlord), director Taku Kimura, and the original manga creator Nyan Nyan Factory. Cosplayer Akanekoza Chiko, whose Yani Neko cosplay drew attention at the series' AnimeJapan 2026 booth, also makes an appearance.
The video was directed by Mani Kato, who has directed many of Wasureranneeyo's previous music videos. Support members Fire Kobori (bass) and Thunder Taichi (drums) perform on the track.

Wasureranneeyo formed in 2008 and currently consists solely of vocalist and guitarist Takahiro Shibata. The band made its major-label debut in 2011 with "C kara Hajimaru ABC," the ending theme of the TV anime "Kaiji: Against All Rules," and has since sold out a solo show at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall and performed at festivals including ROCK IN JAPAN and COUNTDOWN JAPAN. Shibata has also written songs for artists such as Masaki Suda and Non. The band has declared that it will hold its first solo concert at Nippon Budokan in 2028, its 20th anniversary year, and is currently running the lead-up tour "We Love Iu" with shows at Shinsakae Shangri-La in Aichi on August 8, Shinsaibashi ANIMA in Osaka on August 11, and Ebisu LIQUIDROOM in Tokyo on August 16.
"Yani Neko" is a gag comedy based on the manga by Nyan Nyan Factory serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine. Set in a world where humans and beast-people coexist, it follows the lazy everyday life of Yani Neko, a chain-smoking beast-person. Taku Kimura (Studio Lemon) directs, Takashi Aoshima writes the scripts, Bibury Animation Studios handles the animation production, and Keiichi Suzuki composes the music. The series has been airing on TOKYO MX and BS11 every Thursday at 24:30 since July 2, 2026. The ending theme is "Kemuri to Blue" by Necry Talkie.
