TV Anime "Bread Thief" Reveals First Main PV! OP Theme "Pandorobo no Uta" Unveiled & Theme Song CD Set for October 28 Release

The first main promotional video and main visual for TV anime "Bread Thief" (Pandorobo) have been released. Alongside this, the opening theme song "Pandorobo no Uta" and additional cast members were announced.

The opening theme "Pandorobo no Uta" is performed by Ayaka Asai (as Pandorobo) and Junichi Suwabe (as the Bakery Owner), with lyrics by original creator Keiko Shibata and Pandaboy, and composition/arrangement by Pandaboy. The song makes its premiere in the main PV, perfectly capturing the playful world of the series.

Additional cast members announced include Junichi Suwabe as the Bakery Owner and Aki Toyosaki as the Fake Bread Thief.

A theme song CD has been confirmed for release on October 28, 2026, featuring both the opening theme "Pandorobo no Uta" and the ending theme performed by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu commented on the project: "I'm incredibly happy to be performing the theme song!" She shared that she reads the picture books to her own child and described the song as having turned out "really cool," with repeated references to "bread" that make listeners want to sing and dance along.

Based on the beloved picture book series by Keiko Shibata published by KADOKAWA (over 6 million copies sold), the anime is produced by Shin-Ei Animation. Directed by Naohiko Kyogoku, with series composition by Mariko Mochizuki. Premiering October 2026 on NHK E-Tele.
