Set against the backdrop of 1980s Tokyo's rock scene, it depicts charismatic punk band GASP vocalist Toui Fujii as he gets swept into the darkness of the entertainment industry and the whirlpool of idol production, rendered with vivid sensitivity. Directed by Takashi Anno with music by Masaya Matsuura of PSY-S, the production earned high acclaim for its bold direction that reconstructs the original's sharp, stylish artwork in animated form.
