CIA and KGB operatives and immortal reincarnated beings clash in a whirlwind of intrigue, while the true nature of the cosmic threat Nemesis — looming as 1999 approaches — is gradually revealed in a suspenseful narrative. Strongly reflecting the occult and apocalyptic boom of the late 1980s, the mystical score by Osamu Totsuka and the stark desert landscape imagery fit perfectly within the 86-minute runtime. An ambitious work that attempted to fuse Indiana Jones-style adventure with the esoteric mysticism reminiscent of 'Youkai Hunter.'
