An OVA based on the sci-fi manga originally published as a doujin work by BlackPoint (Takehiko Itou). Produced by Animate Film with storyboards and direction by Hideki Tonokashi, and music by Nobuhiko Kashihara. Set in the 2400s, in a future where humanity has been defeated and occupied by an alien race known as the 'Crest Tribe,' the story follows survivors of the battleship Tetraskelion as they confront an enemy vessel controlled by the insane machine life-form Automaton. The girl Althea and her companion Garolii aim to destroy the Automaton, and the gripping developments as Althea is assimilated by the Automaton yet perceives its weakness and guides its destruction make for compelling viewing. Kashihara's electronic score and the hard sci-fi worldbuilding leave a strong impression, marking this as a distinctive independent-minded OVA of the late 1980s.
