The story follows Kouji Sugimoto, a young man working at an auto repair shop, who discovers the anti-tank powered suit 'MADOX-01' after it falls into an urban area during a classified transport accident. When he activates it out of curiosity and finds himself unable to get out, a thrilling chase ensues as he heads toward the building where his girlfriend is waiting while being pursued by a Japan Ground Self-Defense Force special unit. The powerful battle scenes featuring the massive armored suit going head-to-head against tanks through the streets of Shinjuku showcased the talent of the era's young mecha creators. Together with Masaru Yajima's score, this work continues to be beloved as a quintessential masterpiece of late-1980s military OVAs.
