The Story of Perrine

Having lost her father, the young girl Perrine travels with her mother by covered wagon from Bosnia toward France. When her mother also dies in Paris, Perrine continues alone to the great spinning mill of her grandfather Vulfran Paindavoine in Maroucourt, northern France. Concealing her identity under the name Aurelie, she works as a mill hand and, through her intelligence and sincerity, gradually wins the trust of those around her and thaws the heart of her blind grandfather. A beloved entry in the World Masterpiece Theater line, depicting the dignity of diligence and compassion against the backdrop of industrial-era Europe.
