Based on the novel by Kureha (known for "The Demon's Bride"), published by Kadokawa Bunko with illustrations by Bodax (a manga adaptation drawn by Odayaka runs in B's-LOG COMICS). The supernatural-meets-Japanese-style romantic fantasy has surpassed 2.5 million copies in cumulative circulation as of 2026. Set in a Japan long protected from outside enemies by five pillar stones, the story follows Hana Ichise (CV: Akari Kito), a girl born into the Ichise branch family of sorcerers. Compared to her gifted twin sister and treated as a failure, Hana suddenly awakens to immense power one day, but hides it to live a quiet life. When Saku Ichinomiya (CV: Kikunosuke Toya), the young head of the main family, sees through her power and forcibly proposes a contract marriage, her story begins.
